I have had head gasket dramas with previous mgs and they turned out to be just that ……….car off road waiting to be done,very expensive etc.Having been reccomended Russell by club members I didnt hesitate to contact him on a sunday to be told booked up but may be able to fit you in.Well,true to his word fitted me in at short notice and turned up at 1.30pm and had it all sorted within a couple of hours!! First class service and value for money…Thanks alot,now looking forward to Friends Round London run.

I had a nightmare with my car – my local garage blew up the engine, replaced it without my knowledge and then blew that one up as well.
Russell came to my rescue and fitted a new engine in 2 half days.

When you read such glowing testimonials its either they have done them themselves..or..as I experienced yesterday, its because the person really is superb in his work!!!!!Russell is absolutely fantastic. His pre appointment service, arrival and work ethos was beyond anything I have encountered before. Not being a motorhead myself, and making arrangements for the wife’s car to be repaired I could not have selected better. I will certainly use Russell again IF anything needs sorting and will definitely recommend him to

I contacted Russell regarding what looked like the start of Head gasket failure on my MGF.
The reason I chose Russell was beacause the K-series engine is his trade and he works on them daily,plus he has a fantastic reputation among the various MG forums and clubs.
On the arranged day he arrived at 8:30am (even travelling from his home in Kent) sharpish and within a hour had the engine apart and confirmed the problem.
Meticulous cleaning of the stripped parts, new gasket fitted and coolant system bled my Car was up and running in no time.
Russell knows these engines inside out and what would have taken me a week to sort out, took him just over 3 hrs. Its a no brainer doing it yourself when he has all the tools and any additional parts that may be required on board his vehicle.
My local garages would probably charge somewhere between £600 – £800 to do the job.
I would (and subsequently have) recommend him to anyone with a K-series engined car.

This testimonial is also way overdue. Russell visited me late summer to investigate and repair the TF’s vvc mechanism which had never run properly since some head work was done. It turned into a real challenge as the HCU simply did not deploy and a couple of sensors had decided to pack up making the job very very difficult. After a lot of effort over a number of days all was working better then it had ever run previously. If you require any work doing make Russ your first call.

This testimonial is long overdue. Russell visited me in the summer and found that a poorly fitted cam belt had bent a few valves and damaged the VVC mechanism and he also suspected HGF. Took away the VVC mechanism to fix it and returned a while later to finish the job. The engine has never run better than it has in the last 6 months since it was fixed. Cannot recomend Russell high enough an almost look forward to his next visit.

Russell came to see me with only a few days notice and sorted out my head gasket in only a couple of hours. I asked if he could also change my cambelt whilst he was here and he did it with no issue.

Russell’s follow up advice has also been much appreciated. All in all, highly recommended

Well, what can I say?! Russell replaced cambelts, water pump etc, put up with all my questions and did a number of other small jobs all for a very reasonable price. Top guy and doesnt even drink much coffee!!
